après ski: social activity at a resort after skiing
sitzmark: a hole made in the snow by a fallen skier, also called a bathtub
herringbone: climbing a hill with the skis in a V position, putting pressure on the inside edges of the skis
snow plow: a wedge created with skis to slow down.
poma lift: a ski lift with disks at the end of bars suspended from a moving overhead cable.
stem christie: a turn started by stemming one ski (opening the tail of the ski to a V position), after which skis are brought back together for the rest of the turn.
ullr: the Norse god of winter
on piste: a groomed ski trail, as opposed to off-piste which means off trail
schuss: skiing straight down the fall line without turning, also called figure elevens
wedeln: when you make very short and quick ski turns that make you wiggle your hips like a dog that is really happy to see its owner
