Hyman Block | The Brand Building
In 1891, David H. Hyman built this two-story Peach Blow Sandstone structure. One of its first inhabitants, the First National Bank, hosted a lavish lunch with large quantities of claret and the finest vintage champagnes. Brand operateda Star car dealership and gas station and purchased the building in the1930s. It was condemned in 1971, but has been renovated for retail shops.
