The Cowenhoven Block | The Ute City Bank
In 1890 H.P. Cowenhoven built this building with its elaborate, carved trim around the roof line, doors, and windows and massive Peachblow sandstone blocks, quarried from the Frying Pan River. Less than a year later, Cowenhoven began work on an adjoining two-story brick building. The building is an excellent example of Romanesque Revival architectural style.
